Tigers Exit Wild Game With a Win

Miguel Cabrera awoke the Tigers Tuesday when he clobbered  a ball 419 feet into the leftfield seats. Until that moment, the Tigers trailed, 6-0.

After Cabrera's homer got the Tigers  onto the scoreboard, Prince Fielder doubled, Brennan Boesch was hit by a pitch and Ryan Raburn banged  a slider into the seats  to cut the White Sox lead to 6-5.

Then Jhonny Peralta walked. Delmon Young, pinch-hitting  for Don Kelly, was hit by a pitch. And Austin Jackson belted another three-run shot, clearing the wall in center.

The six-run deficit was now a two-run lead for the Tigers, and the Tigers added two more runs in the seventh and survived another shaky bullpen outing -- this time Jose Valverde left with two outs in the ninth because of a lower  back problem.

But the Tigers won, 10-8.
