International Gospel Star Winans Carjacked at West Side Gas Station

The Rev. Marvin Winans, pastor at Detroit’s Perfecting Church and a well-known gospel singer, was carjacked and robbed this afternoon at a gast station on the city’s west side.

 Winans, 54, finished pumping gas into his 2012 Infiniti QX56 at a station near West Davison and Linwood, when a man physically assaulted him, Detroit police said. The assault took place at 3:30 p.m.

Three other men later joined in the attack.

According to police, the men stole personal items, about $200, and then drove off with his burgundy SUV.
