A former Wayne County commissioner, Moe Blackwell, and his wife Kim are under federal investigation, the Motor City Muckraker blog reports. She's the 40-year-old daughter of Detroit Police Chief Chester Logan.
IRS agents and other government representative spent six hours at their home Wednesday near Woodward and Eight Mile in the Green Acres neighborhood and removed up to 20 boxes of tax records and other documents, an agency spokesman told Steve Neavling, who heads up the Motor City Muckraker.
The former Democratic county commissioner from Highland Park declined to comment, according to The Detroit News. His attorney, Ben Gonek, said the raid isn't related to Wayne County corruption cases.
