Cops: Man Beat, Strangled and Dismembered Girlfriend, Then Reported Her Missing

A 28-year-old Farmington man was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend, who authorities said was strangled and dismembered Saturday.

Elisha Anderson reports in the Free Press that Judge James Wittenberg of 45A District Court entered a not-guilty plea for William Dhondt in the death of 29-year-old Kaitlin Hehir. His video arraignment took place Tuesday afternoon in Berkley.

Dhondt reported Hehir missing around 10 p.m. Saturday, and police went to the home in the 23800 block of Colchester, where the couple lived, officials said.
