Oh Wow: Roostertail Expo Is Filled With HIGHlights

March 23, 2013, 7:36 AM

Metro Detroit's third annual medical pot expo is under way through Sunday, and Bill Laitner of the Freep visited on opening day.

Signs that the fledgling industry remains robust are filling the Roostertail on Detroit’s east side this weekend.

Metro Detroit’s third annual T.H.C. Expo is expected to draw 10,000 people through Sunday at $15 apiece, organizers said. . . .

For some patrons, there’s a special -- er -- high point.

“Ride the magic vapor bus to the medicating site!” online expo ads say. Patrons who flashed state-registry cards lined up Friday night for bus rides to a secret site where they could smoke marijuana. . . .

The expo will help to educate state-registered caregivers and patients about tighter restrictions going into effect April 1 for transporting medical marijuana and for getting a doctor’s approval to use it.

More info is posted by a group named American Medical Marijuana Professionals.
