The Millender Center apartments in downtown Detroit has been bought by a Farmington Hills firm that promises immediate renovations to the 33-story 44-year-old complex, Louis Aguilar reports.

Village Green, a privately-owned luxury apartment owner and operator, bought the property at Brush Street and Jefferson Avenue from Millender Center Associates Ltd. Partnership for an undisclosed price. Village Green took over management duties Friday and renovations to the facility will begin in "April/May," according to an email by Village Green spokeswoman Jacqueline Trost. The building is connected by a skywalk to the Renaissance Center and Detroit City Hall, and includes a Detroit People Mover station.

The planned renovations appear to be extensive, including upgrades to the 338 apartments, common areas and the addition of a 24/7 concierge.
