Royal Oak-based Hour Detroit magazine has named Steve Wilke its new editor in chief. Wilke had been Hour’s interim editor since the departure of Rebecca Powers last November.
A graduate of Oakland University, Wilke was previously Hour Media’s editorial director of custom publishing, overseeing its Momentum Books division. Wilke has also edited Hour’s Michigan Links and Metro Detroit Bride magazines.
Prior to joining Hour in 2002, he was a longtime staffer at Warren-based Campbell Ewald, writing for its Chevrolet account. The Fraser native, 55, is a longtime resident of Detroit’s North Rosedale Park.
Hour is the second prominent metro Detroit publication to make changes at the top. Metro Times recently named Bryan Gottleib editor.
