Detroit is officially a contender to host the 2014-2016 Summer X Games, a four-day extreme sporting competition organized by ESPN that includes skateboarding, inline skating, motocross, BMX biking, and rallycross.
Organizers submitted Detroit's official bid Tuesday. As part of the bid process, they teamed up with the dowtown Detroit advertising agency The Works to produce a promtional video highlighting the spunky and tough locales Detroit could offer the X Games.
We're not privvy to the full shebang yet, but the group has released a trailer, showcasing spanning helicopters views of Detroit, a rally car doing donuts on top of Cobo, and an ATV doing a wheelie down the Lodge freeway.
