See 3 Hours In The Life Of Hot Capitol Park Boiled Down To 45 Seconds

May 28, 2013, 11:37 AM

The attached video of downtown's Capitol Park is the work of Logan Siegel, a Detroit videographer whose company, Reel Vision Media, specializes in motion-controlled, time-lapse photography.

Capitol Park has been in the news this month because it's the focus of multiple development efforts, and was one of the parks targeted in Quicken Founder Dan Gilbert's vision for downtown that he announced recently. The park is located one block west of Woodward and south of Grand River.

Siegel. 29, knows Capitol Park well: His office is on the 30th floor of the David Stott Building, the rose-colored structure that anchors the park's southeastern edge. The Stott is under renovation and is also the home of the two new clubs known as SkyBar. One SkyBar is located on the building's ground floor; the other one sits 33 floors above.

The video is nearly three hours in the life of Capitol Park, boiled down to 46 seconds. Siegel achieves the precision look by using a three-axis, robot-controlled camera.
