Despite the best efforts of multiple Detroit mayor administrations to make "Angel's Night" a thing, you people are still calling Oct. 30 "Devil's Night." According to research by Joshua Katz, a Ph. D statistics student at North Carolina State University, Michigan is pretty much the only place where the night before Halloween is named for Lucifer.

In New Jersey, Delaware, metropolitan Philadelphia, and a slice of Connecticut, the unofficial holiday is "Mischief Night." The rest of the country has no special name for Oct. 30.

Can you imagine, Detroit? An Oct. 30 that's as unremarkable as March 7 or July 22. Crazy.
