So remember how just a couple hours ago, Ken Cockrel and everyone else was like "where's Charles Pugh?" Then Gary Brown said that Pugh put in for sick leave, at which point you all were like "that's crazy."
Well, it just got more interesting because Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr decided Pugh didn't look that sick to him or something and denied his sick leave request.
WDIV: Shorty after the announcement the emergency manager's office denied the request for leave and said Pugh has until 5 p.m. Wednesday to either return to work to fulfill his duties or resign from City Council.
When the pension funds are facing dime-on-the-dollar settlements for outstanding city contributions, it's probably best that city leaders at least go through the motions of clocking in every day for that $70K/year salary or whatever Council gets paid now.
It's kind of, you know, the job.
