The pilot episode of "Low Winter Sun" was shot in Detroit last fall.

AMC's much anticipated -- at least locally -- Detroit cop show "Low Winter Sun" debuts on Aug. 11.

But for those who can't wait, there's a sneak viewing of the first episode on Monday, July 29 at 8 p.m. at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor.

The theater notes on its website that there will be a  Q&A with cast and crew after the showing. Admission is free.

The theater holds up to 1,700 people.

The theater website describes "Low Winter Sun" as a "contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge, and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. Low Winter Sun" begins with the murder of a cop by a fellow Detroit detective. Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter the detective’s life and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld."
