Fire Official Smacks Microphone Out of Reporter Charlie LeDuff's Hand
The always-entertaining Fox2 reporter Charlie LeDuff apparently pressed all the right buttons, prompting Detroit Deputy Fire Commissioner Fred Wheeler Tuesday to smack the microphone out of his hand.
You can't -- and won't -- find better entertainment on a reality TV show.
LeDuff confronted the deputy commissioner about filthy conditions and poor equipment at Detroit's fire houses.
"Why don't you tell the truth," Wheeler said as he smacked the microphone out of LeDuff's hand.
The confrontation came on the same day Detroit broke ground for a new police and fire headquarters.
LeDuff's piece includes shots of raw sewage leaking from a fire house and a leak in a fire truck tank. -- A.L.
