Podcast: Checking In On Shinola In Midtown

Now that Shinola's midtown store has been around for a couple months, we had a lot of questions.

Bike and watches? Does Shinola just make whatever they feel like? Are the selling anything? What does it take to be a Shinola watchmaker? Does the bankruptcy change anything?

Jeff Wattrick talks with Shinola's Creative Director Daniel Caudill for an on-location podcast at Shinola in midtown.

"It's interesting becoming a watchmaker. It's almost one of those classic, lost industrial arts," Wattrick says.

"It is! Watches are the absolute hardest things to make," says Caudill. "And one of the goals for this brand is not just watches, it's leather, it's bikes. We're working on footwear, we're working out outwear. Eventually we'll do lighting and home."
