Grosse Pointe Woods police subdue naked traffic menace
Grosse Pointe is a community of high standards. It's the kind of place where you really should wear a shirt with a collar and be on your best behavior. One thing you absolutely cannot do in Grosse Pointe is strip naked and run through traffic.
A 29-year-old Livonia man subdued by Taser on Monday by a Grosse Pointe Woods public safety officer blames his erratic behavior of stripping himself of his clothing and darting in and out of traffic on his usage of methamphetamine, which caused him to have an uncomfortable high in which he was "paranoid and out of his mind."
Perhaps this sort of thing is tolerated in more pedestrian locales, but this is Grosse Pointe for God's sake. Ok, technically, it was just Grosse Pointe Woods. Still.
If public nudity is going to be tolerated, next thing you know gentleman will think it appropriate to wear white trousers before Memorial Day.
If you want to run around naked while high on meth, take it to Harper Woods. That's what it's there for.
