Updated: Monday, 4:45 p.m. -- Prosecutors said Monday they plan to show that Bob Bashara’appetite for kinkly sex was a motive in his wife's murder.

It's hard to be surprised these days by new allegations involving Bob Bashara, the Grosse Pointe Park businessman who had a fondness for his sex dungeon.
So the latest allegations come as little shock. The prosecution on Monday claimed big Bob tried to hire several people to kill his wife, Jane, before settling on his handyman, Joseph Gentz, according to a report in the Detroit News.
The allegations surfaced in a hearing in Wayne County Circuit Court Monday.

Wayne County assistant prosecutor Lisa Lindsey argued Bashara solicited several people to kill his wife, including someone he knew from a lifestyle of BDSM (bondage, discipline, sadomasochism and masochism).
But Lindsey’s statement was immediately objected to by defense attorney Rene Cooper, who said Bahara’s sexual preferences were irrelevant.
Bashara awaits trial in the murder. He previously pleaded guilty to trying to put a hit on Joe Gentz while Gentz was in jail. Glentz has pleaded guilty to killing Bashara's wife. Gentz claims Bashara coerced him into killing wife Jane Bashara.
