Detroit's Top Cop Won't Bow to Voters Even if They Legalize Pot

Detroit's top cop  won't bow to pot smokers even if city voters approve a measure to legalize the drug in August.

Police Chief Ralph Godbee says his cops may continue busting folks under state and federal laws.

"A city ordinance can't trump that," Godbee told MLive about the state and federal laws. "So that would be the priority for us. If you look at the amount of devastation that substance abuse has caused in the inner city, anything that makes it easier to access that, fundamentally I'm opposed to it."  -- A.L.
