September 24, 2013, 3:30 PM

Commodified human being that we are supposed to care about Miley Cyrus says she "grew up" while spending some time in Detroit once.

So, I guess we're all responsible now because...wait, why does everyone hate her again?...twerking? Yes, let's go with we hate her for the twerking.  Well, why not? Pretty much everyone else has jumped on this let's be really into Detroit right now bandwagon, one more can't hurt anything. Climb aboard, Miley.

WDIV: "Detroit’s where I felt like I really grew up,” she told Rolling Stone. “It was only for a summer, but that’s where I started going to clubs, where I got my first tattoo. Well, not my first tattoo, but my first without my mom’s consent. I got it on Eight Mile! I lied to the guy and told him I was 18. I got a heart on my finger and wore a Band-Aid for two months so my mom wouldn’t find out.”

She got a tattoo on Eight Mile! Oh my God! That's totally something someone who grew up in Detroit lived a life of sheltered middle-class privilege in Bloomfield Hills (or LA/Nashville) would say.

Way to keep it real, Miley. Way to keep it real.
