Berman: Under the Heat Robert Ficano Keeping Cool
Some people in Robert Ficano's situation -- under public fire and under investigation -- might just curl up in a ball and stay home.
But Detroit News columnist Laura Berman points out that the Wayne County executive is unflappable.
Despite public calls for his resignation, a recall effort, withering assaults from both daily newspapers and the FBI fluttering ominously in the wings, Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano is using Woody Allen's prescription that 90 percent of life is showing up.
Even Oakland County Executive who offered joking advice not long ago that Ficano kill himself, is surprised by his coolness.
"I'd probably be at home in bed by now with the covers pulled over my head," Patterson said.
No matter how unflappable, though, Berman predicts: "Ficano likely won't survive."
