Temper Temper: Detroit Lawmaker Booted From Committees After Outburst

Temper temper.

State Rep. Harvey Santana, a Dem from Detroit, got stripped of his two committee assignments after an outburst on the House floor Thursday, the Detroit News reports.

Santana was apparently angry about not having a debate over a bill to authorize Detroit to establish a lighting authority.

House Dem Leader Richard Hammel asked that he be removed from the committees for "unprofessional" and "inappropriate" behavior, the News reported.

Nothing physical happened this time, unlike in December when House sergeants had to intervene in a physical confrontation Santana had with a fellow Democrat. -- A.L.
