Dave Mancini, the chef behind the excellent Supino's pizza in Eastern Market, tells GQ readers his favorite eating spots in Detroit.

He covers the gamut, from Mideastern to Latino. Here is Mancini on a Latino place on Livernois, Pupuseria Y Restaurante Salvadoreno:

"I'd never had a pupusa before I encountered this place so I can't speak to their authenticity but I can tell you that the chicharron, black bean-queso, and squash versions here are absolutely delicious. The chicken pasteles are pretty damn tasty also, something like an empanada, and you spoon up some of the cabbage curtido with every bite to contrast the richness. Also worth trying, but weird. is the refried bean-fried plantain-crema combo. My favorite Latin-American spot in the city."
