Welcome to The 21st Century: Phone App to Let Riders See When Detroit Buses Arrive
June 17th, 2012, 11:53 PM

The Detroit bus system, which has been woefully inadequate for far too long, is trying to make some strides into the 21st Century.
One of those advancements is a bus App for cellphones, the Detroit News reports.
By September, the system hopes to unveil an App that will enable riders to see when buses are arriving. Bus systems like ones in D.C. already have the App, which cuts down significantly on the amount of time riders stand around waiting for buses.
The News reports that since April, 95 percent of the buses have had a tracking system for control center operators to keep track of their whereabouts and make adjustments on routes.
The App will be a welcome addition. -- A.L.
