Next Move in Vagina Drama: The Staging of "Monologues" Tonight

More than 2,800 people say they plan to attend a protest staging of "The Vagina Monologues" at the state capitol tonight, with many of those taking to a Facebook page created for the event to share their plans.

One man posted a picture of cupcakes decorated like vaginas. A woman suggested showing up for the 6 p.m. event wearing tampon jewelry.

"Bring signs, bring your vagina, bring your outrage, bring your humor," the play's author, Eve Ensler, told Elisha Anderson of the Fre Press.

She plans to fly from California to perform tonight.

"Bring your belief that women can have a right to their bodies, have a right to their voices, have a right to determine what happens to their bodies -- whether they want children or don't want children," she said.

Rep. Lisa Brown, D-West Bloomfield, said she has heard from people in nearly every state and even internationally since she was banned from speaking in the House chamber for a day after the debate Wednesday.
