Some may scratch their heads and wonder if this is a good or bad thing for Gov. Rick Snyder.
The Detroit News' Political Insider column reports that New Jersey's never-dull Gov. Chris Christie, haunted by scandal lately, will make a swing through Michigan in March to drum up support for Snyder and other Republican governors.
The News reports that Christie, who is the head of the Republican Governors Association, will come to Michigan as part of his fundraising duties to make sure the GOP governors are victorious this election year.
Snyder seemed a little lukewarm -- or at least that's what it sounded like -- when he commented on Christie's upcoming appearance.
"He's doing his role at RGA leadership so I would expect him to be getting around," Snyder said, according to the Detroit News.
Mmmm. That doesn't sound very enthusiastic.
Christie may have baggage at this point, but frankly he still appears to be the best bet for the Republican party for the 2016 presidential race. Of course that could quickly change if the New Jersey traffic scandal gets worse. -- Allan Lengel
