Sometimes, it's really your day to shine.
Tigers ace pitcher Justin Verlander not only earned the win in the 6-2 victory against San Diego on Saturday, but he he got his first major league hit, reports Tom Gage of the Detroit News.
In fact, he got two singes and scored a run. He also chalked up his first win of the season while striking out eight.
Apparently, his teammates teased him about never getting a hit.
“It felt really good to get that out of the way,” Verlander said, according to The News. “I can finally get all these guys off my back." -- A.L.
