The United Auto Workers has decided to cut its losses.

WWJ reports that the union, in an about-face, has decided to drop its challenge in its failed election at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant. The union lost by a small margin.

The union had vowed to fight the outcome, saying Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and U.S. Senator Bob Corker unduly influenced the vote.

“The UAW is ready to put February’s tainted election in the rearview mirror and instead focus on advocating for new jobs and economic investment in Chattanooga,” said UAW President Bob King, according to WWJ.
