Suburban Detroit School Ranks #9 on U.S. News & World Report List

The International Academy serving Oakland and Macomb counties,  which promotes itself as a unique blend of rigorous academic standards, student-centered learning, with an emphasis on global citizenship, ranked ninth in the nation in the 2014 Best High Schools list released Tuesday by U.S. News & World Report.

Jennifer Chambers of The Detroit News reports that four Metro Detroit  schools made the list. The other are: Troy High, Rochester Adams High and Bloomfield Hills Andover High. All four schools made the Top 10 state list.

The U.S. News rankings included data on more than 19,400 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

The School for Talented and Gifted in Dallas was ranked number one in the nation, followed by BASIS Scottsdale in Arizona.  -- A.L.
