Metro Times Lands a New Editor After Lengthy Search

After a lengthy search, the Detroit Metro Times has a new editor-in-chief, Valerie Vande Panne.

An independent journalist, Michigan native and Harvard grad, Vande Panne's work has appeared in Crain’s Detroit Business, The Daily Beast, and Salon among other publications, the paper notes on its website.

Vande Panne was also a regular contributor to The Boston Phoenix and a news editor of High Times magazine.

“Valerie understands our business and what we expect to accomplish in Detroit," Metro Times publisher Chris Keating said, according to the article. "She has an excellent sense for stories that will move our readers, as well as experience with balancing print and digital content."
