Detroit may be getting some good press these days, but in some eyes, it still remains the Gold standard for bad.
This headline appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times on Friday following a shooting: "Is Chicago ‘becoming Detroit?’ Mag Mile shooting causes concern."
The paper reported that a man was critically wounded in a road rage/possible gang affiliated shooting in an upscale area in Chicago known as the Magnificent Mile.
“When you start having that [violence] in a place where people generally feel safe, that’s when we start becoming Detroit,” one alderman, who asked to remain annonymous, told the Sun-Times.
Of course, Detroiters could say every time some politician is busted in Detroit for public corruption, "we start becoming Chicago." -- A.L.
