Fieger: Detroit Needs More White People...Like Me, Maybe

Attorney Geoffrey Fieger told WXYT's Charlie Langton that he might run for mayor of Detroit.

Fieger has said that before, and he's never pulled the trigger.

He also told Langton that Detroit needs more white people.

That statement might be a first.

And, to underscore his belief in a color-blind America, he has released an ad that attacks racism toward President Barack Obama.

"If President Obama was white, do you really think there would be people questioning his birth certificate and whether he was born in the United States?

Fieger told Fox 2 this is not a campaign ad.

"It really has nothing to do with the election. I think they go beyond the election. I did not run these in terms of any support of President Obama. Some things I agree with him. Some things I don't, and I happen to live in a house that's directly across the street from where Mitt Romney grew up and he was an American even though his dad was Mexican. Of course, his dad was born in Mexico, but nobody thinks of him as a Mexican because he was white, of course."
