K.C. Crain, an executive at Crain Communications and son of publisher and board chairman Keith Crain, was arrested over the weekend for an alleged incident involving domestic violence at his Bloomfield Hills home.

Mike Martindale of The Detroit News reports that Crain, 34.  allegedly struggled with his 30-year-old wife and tried ripping a telephone out of the wall on Saturday around 1 a.m.

The News reports that police were dispatched to the Crains' residence following a 911 hang-up call — a call to police, but with no caller on the line.

Crain was jailed and arraigned Monday in 48th District Court in Bloomfield Hills. He was charged with one count of domestic violence and one count of interfering with an electronic communications device. He's free on a $5,000 personal bond pending a July 10 hearing, Martindale reports.

Crain was named director of corporate operations for Crain Communications last month. He graduated from Dennison University in Columbus, Ohio, and began his career with the company as advertising director of AutoWeek in 2005, according to his LinkedIn page.
