With just weeks to go before Craig Fahle steps down as host of the WDET morning show to take a job with the city of Detroit, the station is asking the public for suggestions for a replacement.

If you don't have any particular person in mind, the station wants your input on what qualities and qualifications the person should have.

"WDET is a small station with giant ambitions and an enduring commitment to being a meaningful regional service. We are going through a careful and rigorous process to figure out our next steps," writes Michelle Srbinovich, WDET general manager of Business Development & Operations

"Your input is important and we want to hear what you, the listeners, are looking for in a locally-based talk show host."

"Please share with us the qualities and qualifications you feel he or she should possess. If you have a person in mind, we are interested in hearing that as well."

Fahle posted this on his Facebook page Thursday afternoon:

Hey everyone! As you may know, I have decided to take a new position. This all came together quite suddenly, so we haven't finalized a decision yet on what will come next. That's where YOU come in. Help us plan for what's next. Your input will help us decide. Thanks!

Fahle's last day is Aug. 8.
