With the Tigers bullpen being so inconsistent, many thought the team's latest acquisition from the Texas Rangers, 30-year-old reliever Joakim Soria, would help mightily.

Well, Tuesday night against the Chicago White Sox, the guy just plain sucked.

Fans booed. It was downright embarrassing. He looked like a high school pitcher who was hoping for a big break.

He pitched one third innings, allowed six hits, four earned runs and two homers.

Ouch!

After manager Brad Ausmus came to the mound, he walked dejectedly off the field. The fans gave him a break and didn't boo, but disappointment in the stands was obvious.

“Probably one of the worst outing of my career,” Soria said, according to Tom Gage of The Detroit News.

It was his second outing for the Tigers, the first at home. His first outing was nothing to write home about either.

So, in 2⁄3 innings in his Tigers career, he has allowed five runs -- four earned -- on eight hits, according to The News.

The New reports that after not allowing a home run in 35 appearances for the Texas Rangers this season, he allowed back-to-back home runs at the White Sox Tuesday night.
