The scandal involving football player Ray Rice only raises the profile of this case involving chief deputy assistant Wayne County prosecutor Robert Stevens.

Amy Lange of Fox 2 reports that Stevens, 50, was arrested Sunday at his Macomb County home, after his wife called 911 claiming that he assaulted her. He was charged with domestic violence and released on personal bond.
Fox 2 reports that his wife called police and said that her husband had pushed her to the ground, grabbed her arm, and started hitting her.

A spokeswoman with the Wayne County Prosecutor's office issued the following statement:

"On the evening of  Sunday, September 7th we were made aware of Robert Stevens arrest in another jurisdiction and he was immediately suspended without pay.  We expect that his case will be handled the same as any other case in the criminal justice system."
