Ex-DIA Director Graham Beal Lands Visiting Prof Post at MSU

Graham Beal, who stepped down as director of the Detroit Institute of Arts this year, is a visiting professor at Michigan State University.

He's appointed for one year as a distinguished professor for the Department of Art, Art History and Design, MSU posts.

Beal will also serve as senior adviser to the provost andl work with the faculty to encourage collaboration with the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, the university says. He'll also help in the search for a new campus museum director.

“We look forward to Mr. Beal’s creative counsel to the College of Arts and Letters and the Broad Art Museum, as well as the extraordinary contributions we anticipate him making to both our students and faculty,” MSU Provost June Pierce Youatt says in a statement.
