Justin Verlander is in town with his Houston Astros, and the star pitcher shares observations about the city and its teams.
"The city's doing so much better and there's not a great sports franchise," the former Tigers ace tells WXYZ.
"It's kind of ironic. We were so good for so long and a lot teams were really good -- the Red Wings, the Pistons."
"To have the city rebound like it has been and not have a great sports franchise kinds of sucks. But these guys will turn it around. It's too great of a sporting history and a lot of pride here. It'll happen."
Verlander pitches Wednesday night at Comerica Park.
