Oh, do we like to reminisce about the days when the Tigers had a pitching rotation that included stars Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander.

Well, on Sunday, we'll get a chance to see Scherzer on the mound at Comerica Park when he starts for the Nationals in a game that begins at 1:10 p.m. Scherzer left town after the 2014 season when he was a free agent.

Before Friday night's game against the Nationals, Scherzer told the press, according to the Freep:

“I have great memories here. It’s kind of weird, but kind of awesome at the same time, to come back (to) this ballpark.

“We had such a great run here, had some unbelievable teams. We had such a good clubhouse. Those are things you remember.”

“The fans here were really supportive,” said Scherzer, who won the 2013 AL Cy Young award. “That’s something I’ll never forget. Their support through our run helped boost the atmosphere that much more.”
