Video: Suburbanites End Up Homeless in Detroit, Panhandling, Battling Life's Challenges

These days, in a town that's overwhelmingly populated with people of color, it's not unusual to see white, homeless young people who grew up in the suburbs -- even Grosse Pointe -- panhandling and battling life's challenges.

For some, the common thread has been a battle with substance abuse -- often opioids. Deadline Detroit spoke with a few of these folks to hear their stories.
