A 28-year-old Ferndale woman who was reported missing last week has been found dead, police said Sunday.

Lily Camara was positively identified, and police said there are strong indications she was the victim of a murder that wasn't a random attack. The body was found Wednesday.

"This situation is not indicative of an increased threat to the safety of the citizens of Ferndale at this time," Ferndale Police Sgt. Baron Brown said in a statement that posted on social media.

Police declined to reveal more details, and asked anyone who has information about the case or the whereabouts of Camara's 2017 black Ford Edge (Michigan plate DQX9931) to call  Ferndale Police at (248) 541-3650 (option 5) or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAK UP.

The victim's Linkedin page says she worked for Rover.com. and describes her job:
