Welcome to Deadline's New Food Show, 'Detroit Digest.' First Stop -- A Taco Stand in Southwest

There are many things to be said and enjoy about food. We'll check out tasty offerings around town  -- many off the beaten path -- in our twice-monthly Deadline TV series on food and restaurants called Detroit Digest.

Our hosts are Carlos Parisi and Kyle Sammy. Parisi operates his own company, Aunt Nee's, which produces chips, salsa and guacamole. He also hosts the "Sandwich Talk" Podcast." Sammy is a big-time foodie with an extensive background in music and acting. 

For our first show, we head to El Parian at the corner of Dix and Vernor, regarded as one of Southwest Detroit's best -- if not the best -- taco-burrito stands.
