Is it simply a negotiation tactic or a sign of a true change of heart?
GM over the weekend -- as negotiations appeared to take a turn for the worse -- withdrew a major proposal from earlier talks to put product in two areas where it was closing major plants: Detroit-Hamtramck and Lordstown, Ohio, WXYZ's Jim Kiertzner reports.
Sources tell WXYZ that GM had offered to build an all-electric truck at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant and batteries for electric vehicles in the Lordstown area.
One source tells the station: “GM has backed away from a commitment to American workers" and “GM is reluctant to make commitments on other plants.”
