Wayne State's student newspaper posts a preview:

Grow with Google is sponsoring a one-day training conference . . . at the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

The 2019 Entrepreneur and Small Business Conference will take place on Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will allow attendees to receive networking opportunities, digital marketing training and breakout sessions

It's the first event hosted at WSU by the National Entrepreneurs Association. Friday's agenda and session descriptions are here, and $125 tickets are available here.

Jenna Prestininzi, writing in The South End, reports:

Tommey Walker will be the keynote speaker for the opening ceremony. Walker is the founder of Detroit vs. Everybody, a clothing company, and now owns six storefront locations.

Paul Glantz, the Emagine movie theaters group chairman and chief executive, will speak during the closing ceremony. He earned an accounting degree from Wayne in 1980.

The student journalist quotes Bertie Greer, an Ilitch School asociate dean, as saying: "It's an opportunity to meet very successful, gritty entrepreneurs who have built their businesses from the bottom up."
