Some Developers Upgrade Detroit Apartments While Keeping Them Affordable

Rents for apartments in Midtown, downtown and Corktown, are getting pretty pricey --particularly when developers upgrade buildgings.

But there are exceptions.

Three recent projects improved these residential buildings while keeping units affordable, according to Aaron Mondry of Curbed Detroit:

  • University Meadows, 4500 Trumbull Ave.

  • Central Towers, 2520 Central Ave.

  • Elmwood Club Plaza, 750 Chene St.

“We are committed to building vibrant, equitable communities and expanding opportunities for all residents to succeed,” Sonya Mays, president and CEO of Develop Detroit, said in a release about University Meadows.
