Dearborn's opioid problem Among Young Muslims examined in Vice News report

Michigan has an opioid problem, so it figures that any community in Michigan would likely have one, too. Vice News came to Dearborn to look at that city's considerable drug-addiction problem among young Muslims.

That Islam forbids intoxicants, and the nature of the Muslim community there, can be a complicating factor, many interview subjects state. The failure of a child is often seen as a failure of a whole family, and so the problem is too often kept secret and seen as shameful.
