This continues a holiday season tradition we began in 2016.

In the air there's a feeling of romance among shoppers, skaters, strollers and sightseers at Campus Martius, Cadillac Square and Capitol Park in downtown Detroit since the Nov. 22 tree-lighting.

The 60-foot Norway Spruce with 19,000 LEDs and ornaments, the ice rink, the Winter Market are ideal photo opportunities, particularly for lovebirds of any age.

Scenes of comfort and joy, posted on Instagram, show a sparkling, charming city center during a festive season. We share six more mating pairs below from the past week as a way of making spirits bright.

Another gallery or two will be posted in coming weeks, and we welcome readers’ shots. Share your pose via Facebook, Twitter or email with each person’s name (first only, if preferred) and city.
