Happy new year. Winter is back from vacation.

December 30, 2019, 6:29 AM

Enjoy the mild temperatures and picturesque fog while you can. Winter returns throughout the day Monday.

The wind is building now, with one to three inches of snow expected on New Year's Eve. [Sad trombone.] If you have plans for festivity on the Eve, plan accordingly.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for southeast Michigan, from the state line to the tip of the Thumb. It was nice while it lasted, but warm spells in winter are never going to hang around for very long.
