The public may soon see more of Detroit business mogul Dan Gilbert, according to the head of one of his companies.

Gilbert is “more engaged each and every day” and “getting into his office more,” Quicken Loans CEO Jay Farner reportedly said Wednesday during a news conference for the PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Gilbert is expected to make a public appearance “fairly soon,” Farner said. This may be on or before Feb. 21, when he’ll receive the first Crain’s Newsmaker Hall of Fame award at a ceremony at the MGM Grand Casino.

Gilbert has mostly stayed out of the public eye since a stroke last May, though he recently appeared at the Menorah in the D event downtown.

Farner also said Gilbert would likely attend the Rocket Mortgage Classic golf tournament, May 28-31 at the Detroit Golf Club.
