Detroit-Bound Plane Veers Off Runway Under Icy Conditions

A Delta flight bound for Detroit slid off an icy taxiway Friday morning at Kansas City International Airport while preparing for take off, KMBC reports. No one was hurt.

The plane was taxiing from the terminal when the nose wheel dropped off the taxiway pavement. 

"In preparation for departure, the nosegear of Delta flight 1114 exited the taxiway. We apologize to our customers for the delay and inconvenience and are working to reaccomodate them," Delta said in a statement. 

Six crew members and 123 passengers were on board.
