No-appointment retail, Somerset Collection reopening starts today

Another phase of Michigan's reopening starts today: Retail stores may open to customers without appointment, although at 25-percent capacity. And the Somerset Collection, Oakland County's luxury mall, will reopen to something approaching business as usual. The mall had reopened May 29, but closed days later due to protests in the area.

Customers must still wear masks in indoor spaces; the Somerset Collection intends to give them away. 

In a press release, the mall's management offered this statement:

“Our retailers are looking forward to re-engaging with their guests thanks to Governor Whitmer’s most recent executive order,” said Nathan Forbes, managing partner of The Forbes Company, owners of Somerset Collection. 

Restaurants and bars may reopen Mondayt at half-capacity.

And according to The Detroit News, the Detroit Zoo announced it would reopen to members only, with reservations, on Monday.
