June 06, 2020, 8:10 PM

Thousands of people, including Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, marched Saturday afternoon along Hall Road in Sterling Heights and Clinton Township to protest police brutality in wake of the Memorial Day death of George Floyd.

The march on Hall Road went from Schoenherr to Garfield near Macomb Community College in Clinton Township. Police closed the road for the protest, which the Detroit News reported, attracted between 5,000 and 10,000 people.

The march, which began at 4 p.m., appeared to be ending around 6 p.m.

Deadline Detroit photojournalist Michael Lucido chronicles the event with photographs and a Facebook Live video.
